Self-Titled

The self-titled album, or "the blue album" as it is referred to by Benny's fans, marks his debut on Curb records. When "Into The Night" dramatically reappeared on radio in 1988, Curb records quickly signed Benny and he re-recorded "Into The Night". The combination of the original versions and the new version went Top 10, marking the first time any song, performed by the same artist, went Top 10 twice in the same decade. Curb was best known for being a country label (most notably for LeAnn Rhimes) and really was not able to capitalize on the the success of "Into The Night"

Notables: This record announced the return of Joel Diamond as Benny's manager. Joel was the first man to give Benny a job in the music industry and got him strated writing songs.

Joel Diamond also gave David Hasselhoff his start as a musician by producing his first record.

This is the first record where Benny's son Michael Everett Mardones is listed a s a backup singer.
