This is from the 1989 Tribute To Roy Orbison that aired on Showtime.  Benny and Roy were good friends and wrote some songs together, one of which later appeared on the Journey Through Time album.

Barbara Orbison asked Benny to sing Running Scared, and while he was unknown to most of the crowd when he walked out, when he was done he received a standing ovation.

Other performers that night included John Fogerty, Johnny Cash, KD Lang and Bob Dylan.

When we get a better quality version we will put that up, for now enjoy.

This video was shot in 1980 at the Park West in Chicago.  It's black until about fifty-two seconds in to the video, that's when the camera man realized he was filming a light and not Benny.   It's a performance of "Oh Me Oh My" with just Benny at the piano.  It's not the best quality video ever, then again it's from 1980 so what do you expect?  Hopefully we will get more from this performance up soon. If you ever wondered why Benny was nicknamed "The Voice" this clip will answer all your questions.

This is part one of the interview Benny did when he appeared on American Bandstand. It starts with the end of "Into The Night" and segues to the interview.

Dick and his wife watched an early cut of Into The Night: The Benny Mardones Story and enjoyed it so much they called Benny and invited him to lunch. Dick really is as nice as he appears!

This is part two of the interview with Dick Clark on American Bandstand and it leads into Benny's performance of the song "American Bandstand" from the Never Run Never Hide album.

When asked about the song later, Benny said, "Bobby (Tepper) and I thought why not right a song about the show, maybe Dick will put us on." I guess it worked!

When "Into The Night" became a Top 20 hit the second time in 1989, Benny signed a deal with Curb records and release a self-titled record (also called the Blue Album). This is the promotional video that was made to promote the single "For A Little Ride."

It was filmed at the record release show in Syracuse, NY.  Paul Rodgers covered this song on one of his solo albums.

"Into The Night" is Benny's most famous song, but many fans will tell tell you "Shelia C." is their favorite. This video was recorded in 1984 at Club 37 in Syracuse.  Benny played four sold shows at the club, including an all-ages show.  The audio doesn't do  the song justice (for that listen to Too Much To Lose) but it's a great song and a classic video.

This video is of the same show as above, in fact it's the song that was played right after "Sheila C." This footage captures some of the craziness of those shows. The song is "I'm Not Gonna Cry Anymore," which is still one of the fan favorites.
